Ik mag dan wel in het zuiderse Maastricht wonen, dat betekent echter niet dat ik de stad nooit uitkom! Sterker nog, ik trek de laatste tijd steeds vaker naar het noorden. Lijkt wel een wekelijks uitje te worden! Gisteren nam ik namelijk alweer de trein naar Amsterdam. Dit keer voor een evenement van Max Factor, waar twee nieuwe producten gepresenteerd werden: de CC Cream - de opvolger van BB Cream: net zo verzorgend, maar net iets dekkender - en een restyling van de Creme Puff!
ENGLISH: Even though I live far far away in Maastricht, that doesn't mean I never leave the city! In fact, lately I travel more and more to the north. Almost seems like Amsterdam is becoming a weekly habit! Yesterday I took off again. This time for an event from Max Factor, where two new products got presented: the CC Cream - the successor of the BB Cream: just as caring for you skin, but just a bit more covering - and a restyling of the Creme Puff!
Het event vond plaats bij restaurant Woo Bros in Amsterdam. Daar werden we voorzien van een Aziatische high tea. Had er zelf nog nooit van gehoord, maar vond het concept ontzettend leuk. In plaats van de gebakjes en broodjes die je bij een gewone high tea krijgt, werd er nu steeds rondgegaan met Aziatische hapjes. Hoewel ik dacht niet zo'n sushi-eter te zijn heb ik alles geprobeerd en bleek het uiteindelijk ver-ruk-ke-lijk lekker te vinden!
De middag begon met een presentatie over de geschiedenis van Max Factor. Vond het heel erg interessant om te ontdekken hoe het merk eigenlijk ontstaan is. Wisten jullie bijvoorbeeld dat het al meer dan 100 jaar bestaat? En dat meneer Max Factor himself bekend staat als de uitvinder van make-up? Didn't think so!
Daarna was het tijd voor le moment suprême: de presentatie van de CC Cream en de restyling van de Creme Puff. Max Factor's make-up artist Marie-Sophie Steenaert gaf wat uitleg en demonstreerde tegelijkertijd de producten op model Iris. Zo konden we precies zien wat het effect was. Die hele demonstratie was voor mij overigens een echte eye opener, heb namelijk niet zoveel kennis op het vlak van beauty. Voelde me een echte noob, maar van de andere kant kan ik wel zeggen dat ik echt iets bijgeleerd heb.
Eén tip die Marie-Sophie ons gaf die ik ook aan jullie wil meegeven: wrijf de CC Cream - of foundation in het algemeen - altijd vanuit je T-zone naar buiten. Zo wrijf je met de groeirichting van je donshaartjes mee. Wanneer je in tegengestelde richting wrijft hoopt de make-up zich vaak op onder de donshaartjes en ziet het er niet netjes uit. So keep that in mind!
PS. Uiteraard kreeg ik achteraf ook een goodiebag mee, met daarin alle producten! Ga ze de komende tijd even uittesten, maar daarover horen jullie later meer!
ENGLISH: The event took place at the Woo Bros restaurant in Amsterdam. There we could enjoy an Asian high tea. I had never heard of that before, but I really liked the concept. Instead of the pastries and bread rolls you usually get at a standard high tea, we could enjoy some Asian bites. Even though I thought I'm not such a sushi-eater, I tried everything and I actually thought everything was deliciousss.
The afternoon started with a presentation about the history of Max Factor. I found it really interesting to discover how the brand was founded. Did you guys know that it exists already for more than 100 years? And that Mr. Max Factor himself is known as the inventor of make-up? Didn't think so!
Afterwards it was time for le moment suprême: the presentation of the CC Cream and the restyling of the Creme Puff. Max Factor's make-up artist Marie-Sophie Steenaert gave us some info about the products and demonstrated them on model Iris at the same time, so we could see the effect of the products immediately. The whole demonstration was a true eye opener for me by the way, since I don't have that much knowledge about beauty yet. I felt like a real noob, but on the other hand I can say that I really did learn something.
One tip that Marie-Sophie gave us that I really want to share with you guys: always rub the CC Cream - or foundation in general - from your T-zone towards your hairline. By following the growth direction of your downy hair, you avoid that the make-up amasses under those little hairs. So keep that in mind!
