Begin juli ben ik verhuisd naar een andere kamer. Niet dat ik niet tevreden was met mijn vorige stekkie, maar als het beter kan: why not? (Binnenkort volgt er een roomtour!) Alle meubels verhuizen is één ding, maar dan moet het belangrijkste eigenlijk nog gebeuren: de aankleding! Ik had eigenlijk geen zin om een standaard skyline uit de Ikea aan m'n muur te hangen. Die zijn wel leuk, maar die kom je in letterlijk elke studentenkamer tegen. Ik wilde iets anders!
ENGLISH: In the beginning of the summer I moved to another room. It's not that I wasn't happy in my old house, but if there's something better out there: why not? (I'll give you guys a room tour soon!) Moving all the furniture is one thing, but then the most important thing is yet to come: the decoration! I didn't feel like hanging a standard skyline from Ikea on my wall. Those are nice, but you can literally find them in every single student room. I wanted something different!
Ik zocht... en ik vond! Tijdens mijn zoektocht stuitte ik op Fonq.nl. Ik had nog nooit eerder iets op deze website besteld, maar had al gauw m'n winkelwagentje vol liggen. De Corkboard Map van Luckies was een van die dingen. Het is eigenlijk een kurken prikbord dat bestaat uit losse compartimenten (zelfs eilandjes) die je op de muur kunt kleven. Vervolgens kun je er van alles op prikken: foto's, ansichtkaarten, uitgestippelde routes, whatever!
Daarnaast bestelde ik ook nog een scratch map. Wanneer je deze wereldkaart koopt is 'ie nog helemaal goud, maar van zodra je een nieuw land in de wereld bezoekt kras je dit land uit met een muntje. Zo kun je precies zien waar je allemaal al geweest bent en wat er nog te ontdekken valt! Ik zit nu nog op Curaçao, maar van zodra ik weer terug in Nederland ben laat ik jullie zien hoe ik ze in mijn kamer heb hangen, so stay tuned!
ENGLISH: I searched... and found! In my quest I bumped into Fonq.nl. I had never ordered on this webshop before, but it didn't take me long to fill my hopping cart. The Corkboard Map from Luckies was one of those things. Like the name says it actually already: it's a corkboard world map that consists of seperate pieces (even islands!) that you have to stick on your wall. Then you can put anything on it: pictures, post cards, planned routes, you name it!
I also ordered a scratch map. When you buy this world map it's still completely gold, but as soon as you visit another country in the world you have to scratch it. Now you can see what you did already and what's still out there to discover in a blink of an eye! I'm still on Curaçao at the moment, but as soon as I get back in the Netherlands I'll show you how they look in my room, so stay tuned!
