Zoals jullie weten vertoef ik momenteel in het hartje van de gezelligste studentenstad van Nederland: Maastricht! De studenten van onze universiteit zijn over het algemeen erg ondernemend. Ik stuit van het ene mooie initiatief op het andere. Deze zijn overigens heus niet allemaal gericht op winst maken, er is hier ook heel wat social entrepreneurship gaande! Een mooi voorbeeld hiervan is the Love Foundation, een groep van studenten, artiesten en muzikanten die samen evenementen organiseren om op die manier geld op te halen voor Viva con Agua. Dat is een organisatie die initiatieven opzet in landen als India en Burkina Faso om de lokale bevolking van schoon drinkwater en goede sanitaire voorzieningen te voorzien. Een top initiatief, als je het mij vraagt!
ENGLISH: As you all know I'm currently studying in the heart of the cosiest student city from the Netherlands: Maastricht! The students at our university are somehow all very entrepreneurial. I bump from one great initiative into the other. These are not even all aimed at making profits, we also have quite some social entrepreneurship going on! A great example is the Love Foundation, a group of students, artists and musicians who organize events to raise money for Viva con Agua. That's an organisation that sets up initiatives in countries such as India and Burkina Faso to provide the locals with clean drinking water and a good sanitation system. An awesome initiative, if you would ask me!

The Love Foundation organiseert tal van evenementen om op die manier het geld bij elkaar te verzamelen. Er vinden regelmatig feestjes plaats en laatst werd er ook al een heuse art exhibition georganiseerd. Maar aanstaande vrijdag is het tijd voor le moment suprême: de eenjarige verjaardag van the Love Foundation! Een mijlpaal! Dit wordt groots gevierd met een heuse B-day Bash met een selectie van de beste dj's van Maastricht. En uiteraard gaan alle opbrengsten naar Viva con Agua! See you there?

But this Friday it's time for le moment suprême: the Love Foundation's first anniversary! A milestone! This is celebrated with a huge B-day Bash with a selection of the best dj's in Maastricht.
