Vandaag moest ik op de universiteit een presentatie geven over female leadership. Voor de gelegenheid hadden mijn presentatiepartner en ik ons opgedoft en besloten we in een ware business outfit onze presentatie te geven: zwarte rok, witte blouse, zwarte blazer, ook wel tenue de ville genoemd. Hoewel ik die klassieke secretaresselook nog steeds wel iets vind hebben - het straalt toch wel echt power uit - kan ik me echt niet voorstellen dat ik later in een zwarte rok en witte blouse op het werk zit. Je moet er natuurlijk wel gewoon netjes uitzien, maar dat kan ook op een leuke en casual manier. Ik ging vandaag bij Van Tilburg Online op zoek naar dé ultieme hedendaagse business look...
ENGLISH: Today at university I had to give a presentation about female leadership. My presentation partner and I used this occasion to dress up and decided to show up in a true business outfit: a black skirt, a white blouse and a black blazer, also called tenue de ville. I do think that this classic secretary look has something that makes it look pretty fancy - you're really radiating power when you wear this - but I can't really imagine myself going to work later in a white blouse and black skirt. Of course you have to look sophisticated, but you can also do it in a fun and casual way. Today I searched for the ultimate modern business look at Van Tilburg Online...
Beide outfits zijn in principe heel erg simpel: het is niet meer dan een blouse en een broek. De blauwe tie dye broek van Supertrash is niet zo mainstream, maar ziet er nog steeds sophisticated uit doordat 'ie gecombineerd wordt met een simpele blauwe blouse van Tommy Hilfiger met kraaltjes op de kraag. De rechteroutfit bestaat uit een eenvoudige zwarte broek van Guess, gecombineerd met een zwart-wit gestreepte blouse van Vila. Vind het wel een leuke variatie op de klassieke krijtstreep. Beide outfits kunnen nog een tikkie opgeleukt worden door het tasje van Pieces, de ketting en de hoed van Versteegh. Alllemaal uit één en dezelfde webshop: Van Tilburg Online!
Wanneer ik mijzelf later zie als business vrouw zie ik mezelf toch eerder in de rechter outfit lopen. Hoewel de broek misschien niet zo heel origineel is, vind ik de top een stuk nonchalanter. Maar het is ook weer niet té casual, eigenlijk de perfecte balans! Heb de zwart-witte krijtstreep blouse overigens zelf ook. Had 'm laatst proberen te combineren met de zwarte rok van mijn tenue de ville en het zag er verrassend goed uit! Wel een tamelijk formele look. Welke van beiden vinden jullie het mooist? Hoe zou jij later naar je werk gaan?
ENGLISH: Both outfits are actually really simple: it's not more than a blouse and a pair of trousers. The blue tie dye trousers from Supertrash are not really mainstream, but still look sophisticated because they are combined with a simple blue blouse from Tommy Hilfiger with little pearls on the collar. The other outfit consists of a simple black jeans from Guess, combined with a black-and-white striped blouse from Vila. I really like this variation on the classical chalk stripe. Both outfits can be spiced up a bit by the little bag of Pieces, the necklace and the hat of Versteegh.
When I think of myself as a business woman, I can imagine myself better in the outfit on the right. Even though those jeans might not be that original, I think the top is way more casual. But it's not too much either, so it's actually the perfect balance! Btw, I have the black-and-white blouse myself as well. Recently I tried to combine it with the black skirt of my tenue de ville and it actually looked really okay! It was a pretty formal look though. Which one of the two do you like most?
