Een tijdje terug vertelde ik jullie over de glow-in-the-dark collectie van Alexander Wang. (Gemist? Don't worry, hier kun je het artikel nog teruglezen!) De collectie bestond uiteraard niet alleen uit kleding, ook uit accessoires en... handtassen! Deze laatsten zagen er ontzettend vet uit, maar helaas zijn die tassen vrijwel onbetaalbaar voor een student als ik. Ik had het hele idee van een glow-in-the-dark tas al bijna uit mijn hoofd gezet, tot ik laatst op een heel betaalbaar DIY projectje stuitte...
ENGLISH: Some time ago, I told you about the Alexander Wang glow-in-the-dark collection. (Missed it? No worries, here you can read the article again!) The collection consisted of course of more than just clothes. There were accessories too! And purses! The last ones looked really cool, but unfortunately way too expensive for a student like me. I've tried to get these bags out of my mind already, until I suddenly bumped into a very affordable DIY project...
Het is natuurlijk niet helemaal zoals de originele tassen, maar het is wél handcrafted en dus uniek! Bovendien is het hartstikke simpel om te maken! (Stiekem haak ik altijd af bij zulke DIY projecten als het me iets te ingewikkeld wordt, maar deze is goed te doen.) En je hebt er vrijwel niets voor nodig, dus het is nog goedkoop ook. Het enige wat je nodig hebt om zo'n tasje te creëren is een niet al te dure clutch (aangezien je 'm gaat pimpen), een schaar en glow-in-the-dark tape (online verkrijgbaar). De rest spreekt voor zich: customize net die delen van de tas die je wilt accentueren. Als je op het einde nog glow-in-the-dark tape over hebt kun je, net zoals op bovenstaande foto, je initialen in de rechter onderhoek zetten. Supervet!

(Secretly I always give up when such DIY projects get a little too complicated, but this one is doable.) And you almost need no tools, so it's cheap at the same time. The only thing you need to create such a cool bag is an inexpensive clutch (because you're going to customize it), scissors and glow-in-the-dark tape (you can buy it online). The rest speaks for itself: customize exactly the parts you wanna accentuate. If you have some glow-in-the-dark tape left in the end, you can put your initials in the corner, just like on the picture. Super cool!
